KIMBERLY “JOY” TURNER

Kimberly “Joy” Bondes Turner transitioned into eternity on Thursday, February 19, 2026. Born on August 29, 1980 in Newport News, Virginia, she was the eldest daughter of Reverend Kim William and Luetishia Singleton Bondes. Lovingly known as “Joy”, Kimberly spent her formative years in Mathews County, Virginia. For over 25 years of her life, she was a member of Zion Baptist Church of Cardinal, Virginia, under the leadership of her father, the late Reverend Kim W. Bondes. 

As a pastor's kid, Joy sang in choirs, ushered, and faithfully participated in ministry until moving her membership with her father to the House of Jacob Ministries, where she continued to serve. Graduating from Mathews High School in 1998, Joy was outgoing and participated in several extracurricular activities, including flag, basketball, chorus, and the only drill team Mathews High School ever had, “Mad Flava.”

There will be a visitation held at Carter Funeral Home on Friday, Feb. 27 from 3-6 PM. Funeral Services will be held at First Baptist Church, Morrison on Sat. Feb. 28 at 12:00 noon.
