Ms. Dolores Banks, lovingly known to family and friends as “Dee,” and “Diva” was born on May 23, 1937, in Jersey City, New Jersey. Dolores was preceded in death by her parents David McQueary and Myrtle Effie Teague; her son Sean Banks; siblings Evelyn White, Barbara Love, and Diane Alston; and her former spouses Anthony Cornell Dean Ernest and Wellington Banks.
Dolores was very athletic in basketball, softball, track and field events, and she loved to dance. She enjoyed shopping, bowling, bingo, slot machines, going on cruises, watching tennis, old westerns, game shows, and reality tv. She earned a four year athletic scholarship at Tennessee State University and served as the president of the Southeast Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Ladies Auxiliary.
She leaves to cherish her memories her daughter Rochelle (Juan) Crockett; three sons Ernest (Brenda) Banks, Jr., Anthony (Theresa) Banks, and Eric Banks; grandchildren Kammal Peterson, Ashley Peterson, Ernest Banks III, Alexandria Golden, Sandra Dungey, Eric Banks Jr., Errion Dungey-Banks, Cameron Banks, Shyann Banks; 14 great-grandchildren, and a host of other loving relatives and dear friends.
