Mrs. Henrietta Gladden, 83, a native of Louisiana and resident of Newport News, Virginia, transitioned from this earthly life on Thursday, November 5, 2026.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Mr. Elnathan Gladden, and her parents, Mr. George Williams and Mrs. Eliza Williams.

Henrietta leaves to cherish her precious memories her two children, Donna Shropshire and Nathan Tracey Gladden; three grandchildren, Paris Furr, Tamina Jones, and Donovan Shropshire; two great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and dear friends.

Her loving memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She will be dearly missed.

A viewing will be held on November 13, 2026 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. and the funeral service will start 1 p.m. at Galilee Baptist Church located at 6012 Jefferson Ave in Newport News, Virginia. The family has entrusted Carter Funeral Home with these services.
