Brother Samuel Edward Licorish, Sr. was born on July 31, 1940 in Brooklyn (Kings County) New York. He peacefully entered eternal rest on February 9, 2026, having lived a life rooted in faith, service, discipline, and love. He was the beloved son of the late Reverend Doctor David Nathaniel Licorish and Gresilda Letitia (Archer) Licorish, both natives of Barbados, British West Indies. 

Brother Licorish proudly served his country as a United States Army Veteran with the 12th Cavalry Regiment, Light Weapons Infantry, stationed in Illesheim, Germany. His military service reflected honor, courage, and dedication. Following his discharge, he devoted twenty-one years of service to the New York City Transit Authority, where he served as a Track and Crane Inspector and drove a Tracker Trailer for J.B. Hunt.
